TIME: 6:00 PM
The FEMA case, McWaters v. FEMA, a class action, filed in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana on November 10, 2005 challenges FEMA’s failure to, among other things, fulfill its mandate to provide housing assistance to the Katrina survivors and its inexcusably slow processing of applications. The Court recently ordered extending the deadline for housing in hotels to February 7, 2005. One of the lawyers working on the McWaters case will be speaking at our next meeting.
